3 MULTI-PURPOSE TOOLS FOR MORE RELAXED BODY + MIND

3 MULTI-PURPOSE TOOLS FOR MORE RELAXED BODY + MIND

When it comes to tools + products I’m a minimalist on the whole, but here are a few multi-purpose tools I’ve found really helpful in relieving emotional and physical stress to amp up mind-body healing for both myself and my clients.

1 Jade tool — Used for superficial (or surface level) myofascial release. An incredible multi-purpose, sustainable tool to release that tricky fascia that surrounds our bodies between the skin and muscle. So much tension is stored in the fascia and it can be difficult to release. It also affects the nervous system in various ways so releasing it is highly beneficial for different reasons! Watch my video for plantar fascia release — a very common area to hold tension, especially if you’re walking or driving often.

Everyday oil — A lovely pairing to allow your jade tool to glide over your skin. My favorite to use during treatments as it doesn’t absorb too quickly, but does in time so your skin isn’t left a greasy mess. It also smells divine. Scented or not, small or large, you won’t regret picking yourself up a bottle. As the brand boasts, it’s designed for everyone to use every day + all over.

2 Massage ball set — One of the best multi-purpose tools for muscle release that can also be used for craniosacral still point is a massage ball set like these in either cork or natural rubber

Check my still point tutorial to learn more about the craniosacral system and how using the release balls as an inducer allows your central nervous system to reset. If you’ve never tried this before, be prepared to melt into the floor. Love this paired with a track from my healing playlist to bring focus to the area of your body that needs it most. This is especially great for headaches and higher chakra imbalances!

There are tons of YouTube videos for self-release of different muscle groups and the sets I linked come with a simple instruction book for a few of the main muscle groups. Most people are tight in the pecs, hamstrings and along the spine so those are good areas to start! Stay about a minute in each spot and always stretch the muscle you’ve released afterwards to get the most benefit.

3 Foam roller — another for muscle + fascia release, this cork mini is small enough to travel with or tuck away. It’s a nice intro if you’ve never used a foam roller before because it’s smaller and won’t be quite as intense. You may want to work your way up as you’re able to one with ‘teeth’ like this version for a deeper release. Really nice to use for larger muscle groups of the hips and thighs. Lauren Roxburgh has really great videos and instruction on YouTube and her Instagram.

Hope you try one or all of these to release some of that mind-body tension we all hold. Let me know below if you do and how it goes! Reach out for a session if you feel like you’re in need of a little more one-on-one attention. I’d love to work together!

xx
